[Good! Elesa is bundled up, since it's finally getting chilly out lately.]
There you are! Come on, let's get a booth.
[She takes his arm, leading him inside. And, once she orders some coffee for the both of them (pumpkin spice!!) and sits him down in a booth. And never mind sitting across from him, she's sitting next to him.]
Well! Now's the perfect chance to tell me where you met Silver.
[Ingo wears enough clothes as it is, really.... so all that's different is the addition of a scarf. (which Elesa probably picked out for him.) Sitting next to him? Well... that's fine. He doesn't mind, though it's a little... close... ah, hi....]
Ah- yes. [He scratches his chin, thoughtfully, looking a bit concerned.] It's.... going to sound a little outlandish. Please bear with me.
Mm. [He does trust her to understand, yes-- so he pauses only briefly before continuing.]
I was once... transported or otherwise taken from this station to another world-- known as Luceti. [...Augh, this sounds weird....] I was there for a long stretch of time, without Emmet... and Silver was brought there, similarly, from his home world. That atmosphere facilitated the start of a bond, and we became close, which continued through Emmet's arrival.
...However, how Silver made it here is anyone's guess.... [E-er....]
[She does have to mull it over, some... but she knows Ingo wouldn't lie to her, and she can tell he's not really crazier than usual. A bit different, in a way, but... still Ingo.]
So... what sort of world was Silver from, before? Did he end up losing his friends, by coming here?
[His brows crease further at that, as he remembers what he'd known of Silver's home.] Much more dangerous than ours, from what I can understand. His battle style is... very ferocious, for example. [Yikes.]
In regard to friends, I'm afraid so... I met a few of them, while in Luceti. I'm worried how that will affect him, being here with only Emmet and me. [He's very happy to have Silver, but at the same time, he's not sure what would have been best for him.]
...Yes. [He looks over at her, thoughtfully.] I was separated from Emmet for approximately eight months, during which I met Silver. He became-- and is-- very important to me, and I want the best for him.... but I can't say I know what that is, or if I can even provide it, if it doesn't include being at this station.
[...] This must sound fairly uncanny. I apologize.
No, no. You've grown, in a way, Ingo. I'm sorry I wasn't there for you as well, though from the sounds of it that might have made you worry even more.
[She hesitates for a bit longer, before placing her hand on his.]
...But you'll be okay. I can tell you've grown into a man that can be a good father, even for Silver. Even if you don't do it perfectly, you'll do just fine.
I must admit that I'm glad you remained at home. [He shakes his head.] Your company would have been appreciated, but... the concern would have been too much. [He missed her, sure, but he also would rather her be safe.
Ingo pauses, at the contact-- but then he turns his hand over so that her hand rests in his palm and he can curl his fingers gently over hers.]
...I hope you're right. [His response sounds uncertain, still, but his frown lessens at the very least.]
[She grasps his back, laughing under her breath some. She hesitates, for a bit, contemplating... but...]
...I suppose I should tell you something, Ingo.
[Now, while you have things at their most difficult. Now, when you're settling down again, and taking on responsibilities. ...And now, when only the owner of the coffee shop is present.]
And I don't want you to assume that I'm teasing you, this time! But, well... you're the spark that powers me through my life, so to speak. And if I run the chance of losing you, like I may have already... I need to tell you now that I have feelings for you.
But if this strains our friendship, I'm so sorry. I know you're focused on trying to adjust yourself to being a father, but... if I don't tell you now, you may not pick up on my hints.
[Wh.... what is she-- Elesa is really saying this? Elesa, the supermodel who could have anyone, and she's-- looking at him like that? So her teasing hadn't really been just a joke, all those times?]
Losing me? Elesa... [He turns to face her more, shaking his head. No, no, she hasn't lost him, he hasn't-- he may have been gone, but she hasn't been replaced, or forgotten. He'd thought about her a lot, while in Luceti.]
...You were my first friend, beyond Emmet. You've known me for so long. You were-- ...I had always... ...
[He pauses, still holding onto her hand. What is he supposed to say here, and how? He has wanted, does want this chance she's giving him-- but she can do so much better than than the melancholy Subway Boss who barely leaves his precious subway system. Hell, Emmet is a better choice. He doesn't... understand. He was inferior, wasn't he? This wouldn't happen. This kind of thing is so-- out of left field, for him.]
If... you are certain that this is your preferred destination... [If, even with his faults, she still thinks of him like that...] I would be happy to-- reciprocate.
[oh god he's so embarrassed and-- how do words-- Elesa he's sorry you threw him a curveball--!]
[No... it was more that she could have lost him for good. He could have died, in a war zone in another universe, and she'd have never known. She smiles, when he offers to return her feelings, and squeezes his hand fondly. But she knows that in your mind, you're fussing about how worthy you are. And that's perhaps the only thing she'd change about you.]
Ah--... [He's momentarily surprised (and embarrassed) by that, but really, this is Elesa. He should have expected that too.
The edge of his mouth quirks-- a brief, amused half-smile-- and he does as she says, bending down and drawing her closer with one hand. Might as well do it while they have a relatively private opportunity.]
Well, she is a lot more pleased than she imagined she'd be today! Everything went as planned and the result felt even more exciting, heartwarming and satisfying than anything she'd felt in a long time.]
Not quite comparable to you, but... [yeah, in a sense.... though he hoisted most of that onto Emmet, too. dhkfshk]
Of course. [But while they're not in public... (er, at least relatively, for the moment).... he can stay close to her!!] Hmm. We will have to meet up more.

And it says Elesa! You answer, right?]

Elesa, hello. [What's up?]

Where will we be meeting?
no subject
[But Emmet's not-- nope Elesa's tone says to come alone.]
no subject
...Well, if that's what she wants.]
Of course. I'll be there shortly. [And he will, right on schedule!! If nothing else, he is good at being on time.]

It's affected you, too.

I suppose the tabloids will actually have something to document, ah.... [hoo boy.]

Never mind them. We don't need to be airing anything unnecessary in public, anyway.
