A CHALLENGER APPROACHES...

[It's a fairly average day in Nimbasa City; the city is full of people, entertainment, and excitement.

And Silver is getting the itch to go travel. He can't today- he's subbing in for Ingo at the Battle Subway which is always a nice change of pace but always a short lived one.

What he can do is wander around. Lunch break! It's a good a day as any to head over to the roller coaster and ferris wheel to get overpriced junk food that he absolutely did not by any means pay for.

Who knows, maybe something out of the ordinary will happen. It is Nimbasa, after all, and-

Yeah don't kid yourself there Silver.]

[Well, if Silver looks in the direction of the roller coaster as it speeds by, he may see a red and yellow blur go speeding down the hill and up another, screaming:] Ya-hoooo!

[What the-

He'd recognize that voice anywhere. He'd recognize that red and yellow blur anywhere.

...But there's no way. He must be hearing things. ...And seeing things.



Yeah there's no way he's not immediately heading over to the roller coaster exit to investigate. Was that--?]

[What arrives is a cart with one passenger, who gets off.

A fat lady with a red dress and blonde hair.

Meanwhile, another cart is currently going through the loopdeloops at high speed! Maybe that's your target, Silver?]

[Excuse me red and yellow lady, you're not the red and yellow I'm looking for.

He's hopeful, so he keeps watching the carts loop around on the track, hoping that he'll be able to get a better view of whoever is inside.

It doesn't exactly work out, but hey, it's stopping, it's stopping! Is it this one? Is it--?]

[Empty.]

[Wh- Well maybe he can investi--

No. He has a job today.

...He'll be back later. Maybe. For now, he heads back to the Battle Subway to do that Subway Boss thing that's kind of super important. ...What was that all about? Why was that roller coaster completely empty? What exactly did he see...?

-He's thinking about it too much, isn't he? It couldn't have been something too important. No matter what, he can't focus on it now.

Right now he has challengers to focus on.]

[Sometime later, while Silver's doing his duties, he may hear tale of a strong trainer sweeping through the Battle Subway Single Line, making short work of each opponent he encounters.

A strong trainer with a Typhlosion.]

[...No way...

...No. He's not getting his hopes up, but... A real challenge? That sounds exciting enough.

Beat twenty challengers so you can face me--!]

[And through 20 challengers he goes! Battle after battle they fall, and the depots are full of murmuring about this strong challenger! And why? After all, surely a strong challenger couldn't be that big of a deal, right?

Well, it is... When that challenger is...

Proteinman Omega has reached you, Silver.]

[tsuntrader]

[He opens his mouth to say something...

...And that's as far as he gets. He just stares and blinks and even pulls his hat up so he can get a better view of the guy in a proteam omega costume that is standing in front of him.]

[NO TALKING, only actions!

...no seriously, he's not saying a word, instead just pointing straight at Silver as he challenges him to a battle!]

[tsuntrader]

[...But Proteam Omega doesn't even-

Well. Well okay then

First up is Lampent! He's the best choice against a Typhlosion out of his team. Let's do this!]

[Except the Typhlosion leads off with Earthquake! If that's your best choice, Silver, then the rest of your team's in sad shape.]

[tsuntrader]

[Even if it hurts like hell, Lampent manages to hold on.

Physical attacks, huh? That works out even better for him.

He was thinking of using his usual line-up- and technically, he's supposed to, at least for the first time he battles- but this feels different. He switches out to Honchkrow instead, presumably without ever using an attack.

Which is false, of course. Explotaro will find himself locked into Earthquake thanks to a Choice Specs given to him through Trick.

BRING IT, PROTEAM OMEGA.]

[Very nice. "Omega" is impressed. BUT YOU SHOULD TRAP THE OPPONENT WHEN YOU USE A TACTIC LIKE THAT. Which prompts him to switch out the Typhlosion for another Pokémon, Sudowoodo, who launches into a Stone Edge attack.]

[tsuntrader]

[It's back to switching again, this time with a...

Bulbasaur?

That's right, a Bulbasaur. Tinysaur comes in just in time to get a Stone Edge to the face, but he pretty easily shakes it off and shoots some Sleep Powder out of the bulb on its back.

That's two crippled. Will Omega lay out his third Pokémon or return to Typhlosion?

...Typhlosion, Sudowoodo... Is today Gold day or what?]

[It's time for the third, of course, as he swaps out Sudowoodo for that third Pokémon, which quickly and easily plows through that Bulbasaur with a powerful Double-Edge.

That Pokémon is a foul-tempered Togekiss.]

[tsuntrader]

[What- is that--

No. No way.]

Togetaro...? [Tinysaur, you- you did good. Get back in your ball.

What in the world- why is- what?]

[mischiefbreeder]

[The Togekiss huffs at that weak opponent, and closes its eyes as it settles on the ground, waiting for the next one.]

[tsuntrader]

[Bulbasaur isn't weak, but he can't really compare to Togetaro. He's not supposed to. Even now, Tinysaur's a lot tougher than he should be for the line's first battles- let alone Lampent. ...But Lampent is crazy.

Honchkrow, on the other hand, is more than happy to come on out- his recognition of Togetaro is instant, and without a word or second thought he immediately heads on in with Brave Bird to clash with him let's do this]

[A crazy grin forms on Togetaro's face, as it lifts off the ground and goes speeding towards Honchkrow for a clash with Double-Edge.]

[tsuntrader]

[The two of them clash for a little. The subway car suffers as a result.

In fact, there is barely a subway car when Honchkrow and Togetaro finally fall.

...Welp-]
