[Moro's been gone for some time. The forest has settled into inactivity and calm from it. Her prints have washed away. Her den is filled. Her musky, wild scent is entirely gone from the forest.
But the return of San re-inspires the forest. The chittering animals gossip, talking about the wolf-daughter's arrival. Bits of fur are about, in extremely trace amounts, and there's a white shape in the trees.
She could charge into the human territory. But the forest is incredibly alien, and her mother had advised caution and awareness.]
[Moro's been gone. It's left a more empty feel to the forest, even if it might be "safer" to people from the village. He remembers some words Moro said to him before she left. He remembers the good things she's done, even if her bitterness and hatred are also present in those memories.
But Moro is the first thing to come to mind when he sees a flash of white from... Somewhere. It's enough to get him and Sneasel to glance at each other and stay alert, at least. They're definitely not alone. But who's there? He's not willing to say anything just yet.]
[There is a fairly decent moment of silence, and clear stalking. San can see the human, but never has she seen a human with such bright red hair, nor has she seen an animal quite like what was accompanying him. It gave reason to pause, and to avoid. But he smelled human - she could smell it even from a distance. His clothes were strange, but were very human.
It took a bit, but she made her decision - she charged at him, dashing up with speed and slashing sharply at him with a sharp rock she retrieved from the river.]
[He has the understanding of the situation and the reflexes to dodge a very sharp rock from a- person?
-He doesn't have the time or space to figure that out just yet. Silver and Sneasel both try to back up and put ample space between themselves and their attacker.]
[None of San's attacks are aimed at Sneasel, thus far, and she presses closer, not allowing much distance between them as she continues to strike.
Abruptly, she stops, leaping back. The fact that Silver didn't strike out at her, but clearly was able to avoid her, was curious and for a human, very strange behavior.
Who on earth was this? Where was she? There were a lot of questions she had, that she might have answered by this human (?)]
[Oh, good. She's backing off, at least temporarily. She? Definitely looks like a she.
And she very clearly reminds him of Moro. The white fur and ears she's wearing and dog smell are more than enough. ...But that's still too broad for him to make assumptions.
He takes the opportunity to put some space between the two of them. Sneasel moves in sync with him.]
[Offering to help? That is very strange... it keeps her from taking off, simply holding onto the rock and staring from behind her mask, completely silent.]
[Fine. Explain it, then. San stands upright, finally, instead of the predatory crouch, waiting for elaboration. She even pulls back the mask so she can leer at him.]
She mentioned nothing like that. Even if you say she'd forget...
[Little does San know, Moro hasn't "been" to Luceti yet, on her end. Wibbly wobbly timey wimey...
Still, the idea of Moro being somewhere without her was troubling. But it meant that the humans here didn't kill her, even without the Forest Spirit. But now, she was simply at a loss for what to do.]
[...But isn't Moro- nope. Not going to bring that up.]
I guess it's not impossible, but I've never heard of it. [Unless there was some weird go home thing again. That's different. But that doesn't change the fundamental fact that Moro's supposed to be dead at home.]
Not every forest is huge like yours, nor do they all have the Forest Spirit. [Thaaaat's something exclusive to her world, at least as far as he knows.]

Can I help you?

[Testing waters. Is he human? He must be, he seems very clearly to be.
That general tone of voice and wording should be incredibly familiar, though.]

You sound familiar.

[And that's not the important part! She wants to know where she is, what's going on, what she needs to do to go back to the forest--
San if you want to know these things you should ask.]

... Is the Forest Spirit here?
[Once again, talking to sneasel, not Silver...]
