[Soon. Just a few more weeks now. They're gonna be parents.
As time's moved on, his enthusiasm's grown. Eight months ago he'd never in a million years think he was ready for this, but...]
We're almost there. [Unlike last time they checked out the abandoned home in the middle of the woods, there is a path- it's a dirt path, but it's an adequately sized path that's level and free of trees, branches, and anything to get caught on. A few lights still litter the path.
That can be fixed up later. For now, there's the house itself- if all goes well, it's the place they'll call home. It was worth every last hour of sleep he and his Pokémon lost on making sure everything was just right- and there were plenty of things that took more than a few tries.
He just hopes that Hilda likes it. If not, well... They can sell it and find somewhere else, right? No big deal. There's no way it wouldn't be a nice profit.
[She's happy that it's done, she was getting antsy! Being pregnant around her mom or, fuck, around the Subway Bosses... that shit is awkward. And her only complaint is that it took this long to move out.
Buuuuuut... Hilda looks so pleased. She looks around the house, a bright and pleasant smile on her face, exploring it (but forsaking the stairs, fuck that shit she'll go upstairs when she goes to bed).]
I'm really impressed! I can't even believe it's the same place.
This is really wonderful, this is a house that I'm proud to raise my kids in.
All it's missing is an elevator. [Haha. ha.] Everything's washable, waterproof, and as fire and Pokémon resistant and baby safe as it can be. [He poured his soul into this okay]
...There is a backyard now. It's not fenced, but it's private thanks to all of the trees. The trees are big enough to cover it up- only some light filters through.
There's a tiny berry garden next to the house- there's only so much that berry pots can do, and berries are nice. A few of them are sprouting and starting to grow--!
But the biggest change is the tiny pond nearby. It's not that deep, but it's deep enough that a smaller pair of Goldeen have already made a home out of it, and there's even a Marill there right now, and--]
Rhyperior and Kingdra are to thank for that. [...No, really. That was all them. He left them alone for the day and came back to it.]
Take it easy. The couch is brand new and really comfy. [He looks really happy about the couch in specific, but he'll wait for Hilda to settle down first.]
[She looks pleased! Her own house, just a few more weeks to go in the pregnancy, a family on the way, and the promise of foot rubs since she knows she'll get Silver to do it...]
[She sits down! And... okay no that doesn't feel good on her back. Ahh, that feels good... except that the baby is way too heavy on her pelvis, like that. Maybe if she scoots a little more and leans... ugh, no, now it's not resting on anything and hanging off of her. Bluh, she can't lay face-first, belly in the way... she tries to hang over the sofa facing backwards, but it doesn't work.
Cue another ten minutes before she gives up and lays down on the couch, laying on her side.]
Regardless, by the time she finally gets... As comfortable as she can be... Silver's already put his shoes at the front of the door, taken off his jacket and gloves, and grabbed lotion.
Foot rubs. Foot rubs will make things a little better, right? ...He'll massage her anywhere she wants, really. It. It makes him feel less helpless and helps Hilda. Everyone wins.]
[She says that every time but she just melts. She loves physical contact, it's just so emotionally reassuring! She carefully turns over, facing the back of the couch, so that he can reach her back later.]
[Silver pauses for a moment and stops massaging her feet, although he doesn't pull his hands away. He takes a moment to digest what Hilda's said. That she's really admitting that she's scared.
...He then moves over, pushes some hair out of her face, and kisses her on the forehead- he'd go for her lips, but he doesn't want her moving around too much, and he starts massaging her back right afterwards anyway.]
...It's okay to be scared... [-He'll never say otherwise-] But everything will be okay. [He refuses to believe anything else.]
I've saved your life like... twice? Three times, if you count that point where you probably would have been fine. And then I've saved your butt a dozen more times than that?
Hilda Hilda look what I did

...Please like it, Hilda.]

[Nod nod! She puts her hands on her hips... but only briefly, as they find their way back onto her gravid belly.]
Okay, and I'll look at upstairs later. My feet are killing me and I don't think I'll make it up the steps.

'm gonna miss these massages, once it's born.

[Why not? If it makes Hilda happy, it's rewarding. Simple as that.]

[Hilda you can barely sit upright you're so heavily pregnant, chill.]

Right, it's probably bad to bring this all up when she can't move. Uh.]
Yeah. ...You're having a lot harder of a time than mom is. [Then again, well, that's Elesa.]

[She says it with that usual strong, Hilda-esque grit. There's no fear in her tone, just in the confession itself.]

I can't get hurt. I got you to take care of. And the baby too, I guess.

What's that supposed to mean?
