[Hilda, without a bit of fear, approached the bug!]

Hey there, tough guy! Hungry? I bought a couple snacks, your pick!

[She moves her bag to the front and pulls out some tuperware - opening each, one letting out a meaty smell and one letting out a fruity one. She offers both to the Pokémon, totally not afraid of getting slashed or bitten in the process.]

[It looks Hilda over with even more caution than with Silver. The fuck is this. The fuck are you? Get out of my face, girl.

But it is hungry, so it does at least look at and smell the food Hilda's offering it. It stares at the fruity one first- it's a foreign smell- but it still doesn't budge an inch. Maybe it should just slash the food right out of the girl's arms and take it.

...At least he's calmer than last time.]

If you'd rather eat something else, that's okay too.

[Hilda doesn't budge, either, knowing that acting fearful would be just as unhelpful as pushing forward. Mmm tantilizing tasty snacks, any interest? She sets them down, putting her hands in her pockets and watching to see if the Pokémon would take them or just eat where they sat.]

Pretty mistrustful. But he's not a lot like Kyurem was, huh?

I don't know if I can compare them.

[It looks one of the containers over before deciding to stab it to pick it up and get a better view of its contents; it could probably pick it up regularly, but it wants to make it very clear to both Hilda and Silver that it's still dangerous.]

Something happened to you, didn't it? [It wouldn't be this naturally mistrustful of them, right?...]

He's like a wild baby Pokémon.

[Hilda watches the stab, but doesn't jump or react in surprise, just acknowledging it.]

Mistrustful but doesn't know how to read people yet. He'll figure it out. Maybe we should see how he handles another Pokémon? Weavile should be able to avoid getting hit.

[...It's a good idea, but Weavile is weak against bug types. That's a little risky. He lets out Kingdra instead.

Genesect was about to taste the snack, but now he's bristling and readying himself for a fight again.

Wait wait wait wait--]

[Hilda backs off! She'll go over to give Kingdra pets! Neutral environment set! Now Genesect has the space to eat food at leisure and clearly the Pokémon isn't about to fight since it's getting affectionate coddling.]

Don't worry, Silver, just be calm.

[Words you never imagined coming from Hilda.]

[But Hilda's right. He stays put.]

Genesect thinks it over for a moment- ultimately it's the fact that Kingdra looks so passive that lets him resume paying attention to his meal.

He gives it a taste, and... It tastes fine. It tastes good.

It doesn't last very long. Neither does the other one, even if both snacks aren't filling enough.]

[...Well. That's one way to do it.]

[Good, then it goes to the second step of Hilda's plan! Bringing out more food! And if Genesect is still hungry, especially with its appetite whet, it'll have to figure out that it needs to come to humans in a docile way to earn good things.]

It'll be slow, but it'll be easy. You're patient, right?

[Nod. Right. Bug guy's behavior doesn't seem all that surprising, really. Sad, yes, but not surprising.]

...It's gonna need a name.

...Genie. Genie the Genesect.

...Genesect?

[Upon hearing its name, Genesect looks at Hilda, then at Silver. It tilts his head a little and stares at them, then near Hilda, where her food is.]

Is that what it's called?

That's what The Dude told me.

[Hilda doesn't take her eyes off of Genesect, smiling at the creature without baring her teeth.]

Well, Genie? You still hungry? If you come over here and ask nice, you can get more!

[Genie is defiant and doesn't want to come over for Hilda's food... But he's also hungry.

Being stubborn doesn't last long. It takes calculated steps towards the two of them and the food. Silver's appreciative and a little amazed at what Hilda's done, but he keeps quiet, makes sure to relax, and stays still.]

[Since the food is still in Hilda's hands, she slowly raises it to where Genie can nibble from it.]

Be gentle, Genie. I won't touch you.

[Open palms! She could easily lose her arms if this Pokémon decided to lash out, but she was very confident ~~in her warm PC glow~~ in her decision.]

[...It's hesitant, but it eventually tries to grab the food from Hilda's hands to eat it. It's not gentle, but it's a giant metal bug that's trying to do its best.

Silver follows it up by offering some food to Genie as well. It looks like they've at least come to a small understanding...]

[Indeed! Hilda makes sure that she makes no extra gestures, just letting Genesect get comfortable being close, even if it was for the intention of getting food. No intentions to pet, or do anything exciting, just being in proximity was challenge enough for the metalbug.]

He's fine, he's a good boy. He'll be safe with us.

[...

Yeah, he'll be safe...]

[They can make sure he's fed, for a while! Then Hilda will run out of food for Pokémon.]

[Hilda tosses up a Friend Ball and just grins at Silver once he recalls Genie.]

Yep. The Dude. The Pokémon my soul was screaming out to me to meet!

[S'up I'm god and stuff. I'm huge and awesome and awe-inspiring.]

[...Yes.

It's still stunning to think that Hilda actually caught Arceus. The three of them gave their all just to stop Arceus from rampaging, but she actually managed to catch him...]

[Hilda pulls out the Mind Plate, passing it to Arceus and it absorbs it within itself...]

Hey! The Dude. Rested up?

[The Dude absorbs the plate within himself, and his voice echoes out.]

I'm good. So this is the Silver kid, right?
