She's always been a good hustler. Naturally, she didn't have the amount they were asking for, so instead they gave her a job that appealed to her: Running and rigging Celadon's Game Corner. She couldn't resist.

"So my dad ends up finding out and he and mom have a fight, split up, and mom and I moved to Johto so we could continue doing what we'd been doing in Celadon in Goldenrod. My little sister's still with him in Kanto, learning to be a good police officer even if it's... you know, so corrupt there now. Your boyfriend shut off our internal money supply pretty nicely and Mom ended up selling the Game Corner to an older man and decided to just renovate a building into this big hotel. The casino downstairs is the biggest one here, I think. My family isn't as bad as yours, even though I think Mom's longing for the high stake life again, but it's still not something I'd wave around."]

"A few months later and she calls home and asks if I'd like to help. I loved the thrill of gambling as much as she did, so I said yes. Dad was in Cerulean at the time, I think, my younger sister was with him so she could see what he did and my older sister was in Sinnoh. Still is actually. So my mom and I hustled wages out of the customer's pockets faster than you could've ever thought... And then Raab came along." she smiles. "The punk I won him from wasn't just any old guy, it was a Rocket who thought he owned the world just because he'd gotten lucky. I hustled him so good he didn't know what hit him and soon I was walking out the door and to the café down the way with a new friend. That's when I decided to hustle hustlers. It was fun."
