"Good thing too. We're both heirs, sure, and our family business differs... but they're more connected than you think. In recent history anyway. We've both run from 'the law' of Kanto and had to leave family behind. And we're used to luxurious things, but that doesn't matter much. Now, where do I begin...

"I used to live in Kanto. Saffron City, to be exact. Goldenrod reminds me a lot of it... Anyway, my mom had retired from being a high stake gambler so she could take care of her husband's financial affairs - Dad was always giving away money - and taught me a few things on the side. So I'm a little younger than you are, maybe, and these shady fellows in black come to ask about my mom needing to pay up on the debt she had forced some of these guys to accumulate in her past years. She's always been a good hustler. Naturally, she didn't have the amount they were asking for, so instead they gave her a job that appealed to her: Running and rigging Celadon's Game Corner. She couldn't resist.

"A few months later and she calls home and asks if I'd like to help. I loved the thrill of gambling as much as she did, so I said yes. Dad was in Cerulean at the time, I think, my younger sister was with him so she could see what he did and my older sister was in Sinnoh. Still is actually. So my mom and I hustled wages out of the customer's pockets faster than you could've ever thought... And then Raab came along." she smiles. "The punk I won him from wasn't just any old guy, it was a Rocket who thought he owned the world just because he'd gotten lucky. I hustled him so good he didn't know what hit him and soon I was walking out the door and to the café down the way with a new friend. That's when I decided to hustle hustlers. It was fun."

man this is getting long. she's doing her best to keep her cool too, since she's usually so composed, but there's nervousness in the way she wraps her arms around raab and sighs

"So my dad ends up finding out and he and mom have a fight, split up, and mom and I moved to Johto so we could continue doing what we'd been doing in Celadon in Goldenrod. My little sister's still with him in Kanto, learning to be a good police officer even if it's... you know, so corrupt there now. Your boyfriend shut off our internal money supply pretty nicely and Mom ended up selling the Game Corner to an older man and decided to just renovate a building into this big hotel. The casino downstairs is the biggest one here, I think. My family isn't as bad as yours, even though I think Mom's longing for the high stake life again, but it's still not something I'd wave around."]
