It's better than being outside when the weather gets bad.
[Everything's clean, so Silver starts picking up nearby branches- he already has a small set of rocks set up for a campfire set up, although some of them have been knocked out of place.]
[He almost adds on that he travels light and it's nice to have a place to store things, but that's not the real reason and he knows it.
Some branches, some dry leaves, and a little help from Pinkist later and they've got a nice fire running. Silver has Marill fill it up and sets up the pot over the fire- looks like tonight's menu is cheap ramen unless Ludger feels like stepping up as a chef.]
...I don't have a home. That's why I've found places like this. [That's not a detail he needed to share, but it explains the shack and it explains the pickpocketing.]
[Marill continues to wave his arms around for a little while longer (the only thing really recognizable is a stirring motion?) before giving up and heading further into the woods. People are hopeless.]
[Off they go, deep into the woods, until Marill finds them.
Berries. Magost berries, to be exact. They're high up in a tree, and Marill leaps for them and tries to grab at them and can't possibly hope to reach them.
Turns out that he wanted to help make dinner a little tastier. You know. Be a team player and all that.
Too bad he can't reach these stupid berries on his own. Please help, useless person that isn't normally around Pokémon.]
[Oh hey, Ludger's helping. It's about time he did something useful.
Marill shakes berries off of the branch! ...For a little while anyway, until something glowing in the woods catches his attention and he turns his head to stare at it.]
[That's the best warning Silver can give as he runs over, but it might be a little late. Those red glowing spots are heading towards Ludger, and fast- and it's becoming much more clear that it wasn't some eyes in the trees, but a very large Stantler.]
[The good news is that Silver got enough of a surge of adrenaline to get over to Ludger before the charging Stantler did.
The bad news is that he has no time to pull him out of the way, so he goes with his instincts and knocks Ludger out of the way, pulls out a Pokéball, and.
Nothing comes out. Shit-
He's lucky the Stantler decided to headbutt him into the nearest tree instead of impaling him with his antlers and ramming him into it instead.]

[Dumb question, really. He'll move to help him gather sticks and wood for the fire. He can do that at the very least.]

[That's surprising, though.]
Is that normal for this place?
no subject
[It's uncomfortable to talk about this, especially without Weavile out and around. But there's nothing he can do about it.]
no subject
[Well. Uh.]
Sorry.

I just thought you deserved an explanation. I know I act kind of strange.

Thanks.
[But Silver gets up and brushes himself off, then hands Ludger the packets of Ramen.]
I'm gonna go see if I can find something to make this a little tastier. [Since. You know. It's not just for him tonight.] Watch Marill for me.

[He can do that.
But uh.
How do you watch a little blue ball of blubber.]

Like he's trying to do right now!]

Hey! Slow down.

But following will still be a thing, at least.]
What's wrong?

But, Silver said to keep an eye on him, so that's what he'll do. Even if that means going into the woods.]

Oh.
[Easy enough. He'll just pick Marill up and, there we go, hold him up towards the berries.]

What is it?

Before the round Pokémon can comprehend what's happening, he's asleep in Ludger's arms.]
no subject
[Wait, why is he aslee--
Or, well.
He can tell why it's sleeping now. Suddenly, he's feeling pretty sleepy too...]
Wha--...
