[No weird radio signals, easy food, good belly rubs, dental. I'm living the good life.]

Radio signals? What do you mean?

[tsuntrader]

[Oh you know, Rocket stuff, doesn't matter since we kicked their asses]

I've never heard of these "Rockets". But whoever they were, it's good that they are gone.

[tsuntrader]

[nharmony]

[N chuckles, reaching over to scratch Gyarados' belly.]

He has shared many experiences with you. He sounds very happy, and I'm very happy to hear such a thing.

[tsuntrader]

[...He glances over at Gyarados, who's a little unsure about N scritching him, but- it feels pretty good. Alright, he can deal with this, just let him lay down.]

Good. [He's glad. He was fairly secure in Gyarados' happiness, but... It's still a nice thing to hear.]

It makes sense that you're Hilda's friend, to hear the words your Pokémon are saying to me...

...We've been through some pretty crazy adventures.

[Lookin at you, Kyurem.]

If you can speak to Pokémon, could you help me out?

[nharmony]

Hmm? What do you need to know?

[tsuntrader]

[...He's hesitant about it, but he eventually pulls out Genie's Pokéball.]

This guy was rampaging through cities when I caught it to calm it down. All I know is that it's called Genesect.

It's dangerous, but do you think you could talk to it?

[nharmony]

[N wears a mixed expression. Being exposed to abused Pokémon intentionally? It dredges up ill memories.]

Show it to me.

[tsuntrader]

[...In that case, he's recalling Gyarados, and-]

Could you get your Pokémon to back up? It's gonna feel cornered.

[nharmony]

[N turns to them, telling them to go outside. All of them save for the Zoroark leave.]

[tsuntrader]

[...Alright then. He hesitantly lets out Genie and keeps as calm as he can- it's pretty easy to tell why Silver was so cautious because Genesect immediately gets worked up because he's in an unfamiliar person's presence. It's hard enough to be comfortable around Silver and Hilda, but some new person?]

Take it easy, alright? This guy's not an enemy. [But he doesn't move to get in its way or encroach on its personal space.] He might be able to help you out.

[nharmony]

[N's eyes narrow when he sees the Pokémon. It's got far too many ill omens. The behavior, the body, and the voice...

N carefully approaches, speaking quietly to it. And when it's clear that N can hear its voice, the Pokémon hisses and twangs speech at him. It takes time, and conversation swiftly had, but over the course of a tense ten minutes, N has closed the distance and has his hands on Genie's head, rubbing it sadly and shedding tears for it.]

I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. You deserved none of it.

[He keeps whispering that, no matter if Genie was growling or whining.]

[It's a tense ten minutes, even if Silver tries to stay neutral and casual. But when N does manage to put a hand on his head, and starts crying, well...]

It was Team Plasma. Behind my back, they were creating this creature, putting him through unspeakable pain and genetic engineering. He was... the back-up plan.

[It hurts him so much to say such things, to have discovered such things.]

They lost him, and so they took Kyurem instead.

[tsuntrader]

[Behind his... He was a big part of Team Plasma, wasn't he? He doesn't remember the details.

But he clenches his fists.] They're lucky that Hilda already wiped them out. [They're just as bad as Team Rocket and he would love to crush them--]

[nharmony]

And that Rosa defeated their revival. It's better for everyone, Pokémon and human alike, that they're gone.

[tsuntrader]

[Genetic engineering. That's what his father did to create Mewtwo, wasn't it?

Team Plasma and Team Rocket aren't that different. ...He'll have to ask Rosa about the revival later.]

At least it's in the past now. [For now. He doesn't trust Teams that have been taken down to stay down, especially after a revival...

...But Unova has heroes that can take care of it.

He turns to Genie.] You heard the guy. No one's gonna hurt you anymore, especially not if I have anything to say about it.

[nharmony]

[Genie is still suspicious, but it calms him to see N so remorseful on his behalf, that he's finally starting to chill out.

N keeps his hand on Genie, rubbing his head soothingly.]

The past is past... let this Hero's friend bring you a happy life, Genesect.

[There's a pause before it grumbles something.]

...Yes. Genie, of course.

[tsuntrader]

[...Heh.] So you really do like that name. [He's pushing his luck, but he does try to offer up his hand to pet it. When Genie lets him, he headpats it, but he keeps things brief to keep it from getting too uncomfortable.]
