[It works... To an extent. Ursaring just swings his free fist for a second Fire Punch while melting the ice off with his other one.

He's a very angry bear- and when it comes to elemental rock paper scissors, he's Silver's best bet. His Guts will turn any burns or paralysis into an advantage.]

Where did you come from, anyway? What are you after?

[Well, whatever it wants, it clearly doesn't want fire. It lets out a deep bellow, stomping away and out of reach of Ursaring. It growls, mistrustful.

It's got the signs of a Pokémon that doesn't understand the context of what's happening. It doesn't understand anything outside of lashing out and being violent, and it trusts nothing. No one.]

[He knows that look. He's seen it before. He calls off Ursaring for the moment and has him stand nearby him.]

I don't want to just hurt you. I want to understand you. I still won't let you hurt innocent people, even if it means that I have to fight you. [Are his words even reaching it? ...He can't help but try.]

[It sways and bobs its head back and forth, trying to seize up this formidable foe. It was indecisive about whether it should keep fighting or retreat.

After a while, it chose to launch an Ice Beam at Silver.]

[And Silver was absolutely ready for it. Expected it, even. It definitely wasn't out of nowhere. He slips behind Ursaring who takes the hit fairly well, but he recalls him anyway.

That cannon is where all of its elemental attacks are coming from. If he can block that off, he can make this fight a lot easier...]

It's a fight, then. We won't hold back.

[He lets out Rhyperior. Rhyperior is slow and bulky; a seemingly poor match for Genesect due to its speed and the fact that he's a Rock-type.

Rhyperior is also a ground type and Silver has an idea. On command, Rhyperior starts to rip up the earth with Bulldoze to slow Genesect down.]

[It flails, screeching again, and blasts another powerful Ice Beam at them. It's frantic, but angry. It's hateful, mistrustful, there's no way this human can be anything good. They never are.]

[Which is fine. It hurts Rhyperior big time, but he endures it.

He endures it before unleashing Stone Edge- except the stones come from his hands. The series of them are aimed at and around Genesect, but they're focused on one important spot- Genesect's cannon. They're trying to plug his cannon.]

[And it's successful! Genesect tries to use the three attacks it has already displayed, but to no avail. It thrashes, trying to toss aside the bulldozed earth, before sweeping and grabbing for Silver with its claws desperately.]

[It's not lodged in too far, but it looks like it served its purpose, at least for now. Silver recalls Rhyperior and lets out Feraligatr; Feraligatr intercepts Genesect before he can reach Silver. Silver stands right behind Feraligatr; it's not only a safe place, but the safest place that's still close to the action.]

[It's angry, jolts of electricity spewing from between the stuffed rocks. It's weak, and the shrieks of pain start to escalate the more it struggles.

Eventually, it goes from trying to get at Silver to trying to escape, prying itself out of the earth and starting to scramble towards the city once more.]

[If it's trying to escape, it's because it's worn out, right? Silver lets out Honchkrow to chase after Genesect since as it stands, that's his fastest method of travel and there's no way he's letting it back into the city. He grabs an empty Pokéball while they're flying; it's time. He's got no other choice. But where's the best place to hit him?]

[It stops, staring up at Honchkrow...

It lets out a bellowing growl, charging up its cannon and unleashing a Techno Blast - it destroys the barrel of the cannon, but it blows the Stone Edge shards and a massive beam of electricity at Silver and the bird.]

[It hits. It hits hard and it hurts. Both Silver and Honchkrow, while not too high up, end up falling out of the air and harshly connecting with the ground.]

[The mechanical beast scurried closer, slashing with its claws in a wild and frustrated anger. It fights in contempt, as vengeance for the pain it suffered. It wanted to tear apart Plasma, but this human will be a sufficient outlet for its anger.]

[There's not much Silver can do to defend himself. He gets slashed and sliced at and his head is still spinning...

But Honchkrow doesn't stay down for long. He's resilient. He slams straight into Genesect with Brave Bird the second he can get back onto his feet.]

[It bellows, attempting to electrocute Honchkrow but only electrocuting itself. After a deep tremor, and regaining its footing from Brave Bird, it lurches forward, stabbing its claws into the earth to trap Silver.

The seams of its body began to glow, giving Silver mere fractions of a second in warning before it went to its final resort.

Explosion.]

[He doesn't get any time to do more than to look horrified, just for a moment, before getting the full impact of the Explosion.

He's not really sure what happened next; the only parts that are clear are that Silver now has his back against something (a tree) and that Honchkrow is somewhere on him (because there are feathers covering his face).

It takes him a while to try to move. It doesn't take him too long to stand once he does- his balance is off, and he can feel pain, but the pain should be so much more than it is and he's not entirely sure why.

But that's not important right now. He hasn't forgotten what he has to do. How it started or why he's doing it are long gone; all he knows is that he has to do it.

Honchkrow supports him as he heads back towards Genesect; Honchkrow's on his last legs as is, but if Silver can keep moving, he can keep moving too.]

[Genesect is on the ground, entirely still. Its eyes flicker like a lightbulb losing its filament, and there's sparks shooting off of the Pokémon... but it's completely motionless otherwise. Its armor is blown open, body exposed and bleeding profusely. The weight of ozone is in the air from all the energy, the only true pressure the Pokémon can apply at this point.

It's completely prone.]

[It's prone, so he does it. He pulls out a spare Pokéball- the original one being long gone- and tosses it right at the top of Genesect's cannon.]

[It's captured. There's absolutely no fight left. All that remains is to tend to the wounds.]

[It's relieving. It's relieving because even though Genesect is hurt- even though he's hurt- the hurting is over. It's time to recover.

Silver doesn't really think about himself; adrenaline is keeping him afloat. He heads right back into the city; right back into the city and right towards the Pokémon Center. He tries flying on Honchkrow, but he doesn't have the strength to hold himself up. Walking it is.

He'll take his Pokémon (there's no "and Genesect", Genesect is automatically included) to the Pokémon center. They'll heal them up, then he'll go home and clean himself off and tend to whatever wounds he has.

That's his game plan. It's as simple as that.]

[When Silver shows up in the Pokémon Center in that state, the nurses immediately call up an ambulance for him, commanding him as gently and patiently as they could to lay down and take it easy.

It's a bloody mess. They can put the Pokémon on the machine, but the bleeding trainer needs the more immediate attention.]

[He tries to protest and say that it's okay, he'll be fine, and the discomfort of the idea is plainly written on his face, but they're persistent. He gives up on arguing, instead choosing to stay standing (because he has to keep going and once he sits he's not gonna get up again) and head out the second his Pokémon are healed and returned to him, regardless of any protesting.

The idle time has made moving a lot heavier of a task- everything's heavier, slower, and more painful. He's had to wipe blood off of his face on multiple occasions while waiting; he's aware that he's bleeding a lot, but he still doesn't understand the full impact of his injuries.

He begins to drag himself home which, while not that far away, feels like it's more like climbing a mountain.]

[People in the streets are screaming in shock, either giving him a wide berth or approaching him and asking if he needs help. Some insist that they're already calling an ambulance for him.

If it's bad enough this time that everyone you pass is reacting strongly, Silver...]

[At first, he tries to brush people off and insist that he's fine, but the longer he walks, the more he feels what everyone's fussing about- the more every inch of his body tells him not to move. At some point, he actually stops and looks at himself... and for the briefest moment, there's fear in his eyes.

But he shakes it off and keeps moving. His insistence turns into pleading that he just wants to go home- it's the truth. He's gonna clean himself up and sleep it off. That's all there is to it. That's all there is to it...]
