[Silver pulls out one of his Pokéballs to quickly demonstrate- just press the button dude- even if if no one comes out.
It makes him a little more frustrated than he's willing to admit that he can't let any of his partners out, but there's nothing he can do about it right now...]
[Silver waits at the cave entrance- he's stopped only because he's looking through some strange case of CDs.]
I know I said you can take her out, but you're gonna have to put her back in her ball for a minute. [...] Unless you want to stumble around blindly in a dark cave for days. That might be on your to do list.
[Excuse you redhead punk I am busy covering my human in static electricity could you quit being so rude-]
...Silver cracks a smile for a moment but quickly looks away and focuses on the important thing here- teaching Pinkist to use Flash. It might seem weird to put some weird disc up to some weird ball, but don't worry.
It's a much weirder thing than it looks like.]
You can let her out now. [It's time to get in that cave already. It's more important to see and avoid the Geodude and Graveler than to worry about attracting the attention of some Zubat and Golbat that Pinkist should be able to zap anyway.]
They're cute, round, and blue. They're also water-types, so they could be the difference between getting out of this cave and getting crushed by an Onix.
[The Geodude are a huge pain, too; without anything that can effectively hit them, Silver tries to avoid loose rocks and pulls Ludger away from any trouble with them as much as possible. While the two of them are moving and learning, he does his best to give him a crash course Pokémon lesson as much as possible- he explains types, moves, the local wildlife, and whatever else he can fit in between avoiding Geodude, zapping Zubat, and butting heads with the Machop, Rattata, and whatever else wants to give them trouble under this huge mountain.
But they're in luck. A small blue ball on the end of a Marill's tail is in sight, and it bounces slightly in a corner of the seemingly endless tunnels.]

...]
What about something that has to do with her color?

[Hmm...]
Pinkist?
no subject
[Wait. No. Whatever it is, that works.] Name it pinkist.

I think it's more of a title than a name.

[Uh... how.]

But what now]

You guys can walk and bond, right?]

He keeps on patting it on the head each time it butts into him, still trying to keep track of Silver.]

[Though, yeah, that static electricity... it already has his hair standing up.
Oops.]

Pinkist does zap the Zubats and Golbats, making sure to keep them away from them.]

We can get to the other side in two days if we don't get lost. There's an opening halfway through. We can rest outside once we get there.
[...Assuming they don't get lost. Without his Pokégear working, that's a very real possibility.]
If you see a Marill, don't just zap it. Use Thunder Wave instead.

[... No idea what that even is...]

[It's easy enough to tell apart from all the rock enemies, anyway.]
