BECAUSE WE GIVE NEGATIVE SHITS AND LOVE SUBWAYS
IT'S PRETTY SELF EXPLANATORY MAN
SILVER'S EXISTENCE CREATES INTERESTING PROBLEMS
SUBWAY DEPOT AGENTS ARE ALL PRECIOUS BABBIES
HILDA IS CRAZY
EMMET IS SAD
INGO IS DATING ELESA?!?!?!
AND SOMEHOW WE WILL ALL WORK IT OUT LIKE A COMPLETELY DYSFUNCTIONAL SUBWAY FAMILY
BECAUSE WE CAN
AND ENTER HILBERT

[Despite the friendliness and endearment of the conversation, Emmet's still distanced. It's so strange, to be that far away despite talking like there's nothing different.]
no subject
[It's strange. So strange, and Ingo's really not sure what to do about it. What can he say?
...Of course, just standing in Gear Station like this is bound to get them noticed by one person or another. They won't be able to have this awkward conversation for long-- in fact, it looks like a woman is heading their way now...]
no subject
What a lovely bouquet.]
Hello, Miss! Do you need help again today? I'd be happy to help!
no subject
Ingo keeps off to the side a little, as the conversation's not exactly directed at him, but he's paying attention. Aah, that's awfully sweet of her.... but she looks a little worked up, slightly. Wonder what's up?]
no subject
Thank you for the gift, but I'm just happy to help! Do you need help, still, arriving at your next destination? I'd be happy to escort you, if you like!
[Strange, Emmet would usually say "we", in a situation like this...
............Does he like this woman???
The answer is no]no subject
Ingo's eyes drift down to the bouquet, idly. He'll have to look up the flower meanings later, to see if it's anything significant. Let's see, if he can even recognize what flowers there a....re ]

Suddenly her fidgety, elated nervousness makes sense, and her eyes and smile are widening and her grip shifts and--
Ingo doesn't hesitate to get Emmet out of the path, jolting forward and shoving him away from the knife that's now glittering between the plant leaves as they fall away in the wake of her attempted stab.
Of course, in getting Emmet out of the way Ingo put himself at risk.
The knife hits home, but on the wrong person.]

It couldn't be--
But as Emmet turned and looked, there she stood, hand grasping a knife that was embedded in Ingo.
In his brother.]
no subject
Ingo! Ingo, say something! Please!
no subject
Oh.
His head feels light.]
Don't... take it out. [He wants it out, away from him-- every throb of his heart pumping blood around it wants him to get this foreign object out of him.
But at the same time... that would be worse, wouldn't it? Don't let him do it, Emmet. You know, before the shock hits him and he goes white and can't focus, or passes out entirely.]
no subject
Call an ambulance! Call it right now!
[Before turning his attention back to Ingo, gently touching his face and trying to keep him awake.]
Don't--don't fall asleep. Don't close your eyes, Ingo, please! Please don't leave me! You have to live, so don't let yourself pass out!
no subject
Right. stay awake. Stay awake.] Emmet? You're safe, right? You're not going anywhere, are you?
[Whether he means it in the metaphorical distance or the actual distance, he's not really sure himself.]
no subject
[He squeezes Ingo's hands, before dropping his head and fighting back miserable bawling.]
I'm so sorry... I'm so sorry, I'm so stupid! Please don't go. I won't ever do it again, please!
no subject
...Big brother... [He's scared, even as he doesn't want to be-- but the use of that old name can only make it obvious. His voice is even smaller now. He's shaking a little, holding onto Emmet's hands but not really feeling them...]

Despite the tears pouring down his face, Emmet manages to pull up a reassuring smile. He talks, again, in a quiet and calm voice. His fears don't matter right now.]
Be strong, baby brother...
[He runs a thumb over Ingo's brow, to calm and comfort him.]
Stay with me. Listen to my voice, okay? You'll be okay. Absolutely 100% okay. But you have to be strong.
[Where's the EMT?]
Not for me! For Elesa. And... and for Silver. Don't forget about Silver. He needs you even more than I do.
no subject
Silver... I hope he's okay. I wonder... when he'll come back. [He's off on his own right now, isn't he?
...]
...Emmet... it's still there. [Ingo is steadily losing the ability to focus, squinting up at Emmet's face. How disorienting. Keep talking, Emmet.] It's still there. It's-- I don't--...
[Don't pull it out. Don't pull it out. Don't pull it out.
The medical experts will be here in just a few moments. Reaching Gear Station can't be hard, and the crowd will part for them... ...]
no subject
[Keeping a hold of Ingo's hands, and touching at Ingo's face, trying to distract him and keep his attention.]
Silver's okay. He's with Miss Hilda, remember? They won't get themselves hurt as long as they're together.
[AH HAH. It doesn't matter now anyway. Emmet takes a chance to glance up - Cameron is even helping out, dispersing the crowd with a megaphone while Ramses pinned the woman against the ground, his knee pressing into her neck to keep her down. The crowd was clear, there was a straight path. Good...]
Any minute now, the EMT will make it. Hold on, just a little longer, Ingo.
no subject
Soon enough, the EMT is rushing up to them, Cloud leading the way. Alright, they can take it from here.]
Emmet? [He understands that these people are going to help, but-- he doesn't--] Are you-- coming too?
[His hand twitches. Don't pull it out. It's so hard...]
no subject
Yes, I'm coming, I'll be right behind you! They're going to rush with you, but I'll be right here. Don't be scared.
[He glances around-- okay good Ramses is on the phone with the cops. Good. He turns his attention to the EMT.]
He was stabbed-- [Obviously] --he pushed me out of the way. If, if he needs blood, I'll give it, if he needs anything I will give it to him. I'm an organ donor.
[He's babbling at this point, but it's the only way he can keep his wits about him as they quickly but carefully put Ingo onto a stretcher and take him outside. Emmet's right by them, keeping a hold of Ingo's hand as best as he could.]
no subject
Ingo, worn out, is slowly weakening, even as he tries his hardest to remain conscious and attached to Emmet's hand. But it's not as bad now, right? He made it to the car.
Still, he doesn't want to let go of Emmet. Stubbornly, Ingo grasps onto his brother, even if he's just staring straight ahead of him now in the shock from the whole thing. ]
no subject
Ingo... we're almost there. It'll be done soon, okay?
no subject
...]
Sorry, Emmet... [For relying on you, so much. Sorry.]
no subject
[He couldn't handle it.]
...Thank you. Thank you, brother, thank you for saving me... thank you so much...
[Because as stupid as it was, as much as Emmet would have rather been stabbed, Ingo did it out of love for him. And Emmet couldn't be angry at that. Emmet rested his forehead against Ingo's knuckles, shakily inhaling to maintain his already feeble composure.]
Just... fight as hard as you can, okay? That's all I ask...
