Any creatures that aren't humans are Pokémon. [Has he really never heard of them before?] This one next to me is Weavile. The big red guy is Gyarados.

[...That's impossible. Silver glances over at Weavile- who looks just as uncomfortable as he does- before continuing over to their "camp site"...

Which is really just a camp fire with a blanket near some tree. Weavile fetches the eggs they got- they put them down when they heard alarming roaring coming from Gyarados- and Silver trades them for a Tamato Berry that Weavile happily cuts up.]

What's it like? [You know. Not having Pokémon. He's supposed to be helping this guy, but all he can do is think of more and more questions.]

[What do you eat? Who do you journey with? How do you survive? With those swords?

Scrambled eggs with diced tamato berry bits is on this morning's menu. Cooking on top of a rock on a fire isn't exactly fancy, but the less he has to carry, the better.]

If not, your best bet is Goldenrod City. It's the largest city in the region.

People won't take kindly to the weapons, though. I'd avoid waving them around.

I don't know my way around here, so I don't have much of a choice.

...It might not be a bad idea to try catching a Pokemon while you're here. I can't imagine traveling without one.

But he'll take some of those eggs. He's pretty hungry, and starts eating quickly as a result.]

They aren't bad.

[Silver splits his share with Weavile, who devours them as fast as possible. That's expected. What isn't expected is some praise from mister no Pokémon.]

They're nothing special. [The eggs are fresh, the berries diced into them are tasty and spicy, but it's nothing to write home about. He tries to find somewhere else to look; Weavile conceals a snicker.]

They're better than most restaurants, probably.

That's just because everything out here is really fresh and tasty. Thank nature, not me.

[Weavile's snickering turns into straight out laughter. This guy's really laying it on thick, huh?]

Besides, they're all I can make. [You know, other than pasta or something really sumple.]

It's most of it.

You need a more balanced diet.

Sometimes my Pokémon bring back fish or meat. I've got berries too.
